What to ask a photographer or videographer ↓What to ask a photographer or videographer
Do you have photo and video in the same team?
Sometimes one supplier can cover both, and a team that already works together coordinates more easily through the moments that matter. If they work separately, ask who they usually collaborate with and whether you can speak to both suppliers before the wedding, so you know how they will work together on the day.
What exactly do we get at the end?
On the video side, packages can include a teaser, a trailer or cinematic film, the full film and, if you want one, a Same Day Edit. On the photo side, ask how many edited images you receive and how they are delivered. Clarify whether drone footage and the raw files are included, because neither is part of every package.
What is added on top of the package price?
A printed album, travel, accommodation, extra hours and a civil ceremony held on a different day can all be separate costs. Ask for the quote with every one of those set out clearly, not just the headline price of the package.
How long until we get the photos and the film?
Ask for a clear deadline in the contract, stated separately for the photographs and for the film. Ask as well whether you receive anything before the final delivery, such as a teaser or a few edited photographs in the first days after the wedding.
How many hours and how many people are included?
Ask from what moment the contracted time starts, how many hours are included and what the extra hours cost. Clarify how many photographers or videographers come, what equipment they use and whether audio or other equipment is included.
What do you need from us to quote?
The date, the city and the exact addresses: where you are getting ready, where the civil ceremony is, where the church is and where the party is. Mention your estimated guest count, the window you want them present for, and the moments you particularly want captured. If the event is in another city, say so at the start.
