What to ask about decor and flowers ↓What to ask about decor and flowers
Do you cover both the flowers and the decor?
At many weddings the two overlap: florists also build arches, the top-table arrangement and the candles, while decorators work with flowers too. Ask exactly what their quote covers, point by point, so you do not pay twice for the same thing or find out just before the wedding that something was left uncovered.
Which flowers and arrangements are in the package?
Packages can include the bride’s bouquet, the buttonholes, the table arrangements, the top table, the ceremony flowers and, where relevant, the arch. Sometimes dressing the wedding candles is included as well. Ask for the full list and ask what changes between packages, because that is usually where the price difference comes from.
What exactly does the room decor include?
Room decor can mean the table arrangements, the top table, the draping, the decorative columns, the carpet, the floral wall for the photo corner and the lighting. The arch is usually costed separately, according to its size and where it stands. Ask for the quote in writing and ask explicitly whether the favours, the table numbers, the chair covers and anything else you have in mind are included.
How many buttonholes do you recommend, and what does each cost?
The number depends on who you want wearing one — the groom, the godparents, the parents, the bridesmaids and the groomsmen, for example. Say from the start who they are for and whether you want different designs for particular people. That way you can see exactly how many are needed and what they add to the total.
What is added on top of the flowers and the decor?
Beyond the flowers and the decor items themselves, a quote can list transport, the build, the strike and the time spent at the venue separately. Ask whether all of those are included, and whether the price of the flowers can move with the season or with availability. That is how you compare one quote against another without discovering extra costs later.
What do you need from us to quote?
Send the date, the venue, the colours or theme you want and your estimated guest count. Say as well whether you want decor for the ceremony too, not only for the room. If you can, send photographs of the empty space and say where you want the main pieces — the top table, the tables, the arch or the photo corner. With that, a supplier can cost it far more precisely.
